I challenge anyone to show a meaningful example of the US Government eliminating "waste and fraud" from any program they've ever created.

Homo-sexuals, pro-choice, empty kitchen activist women, liberals and basically anyone who does not follow their beliefs are labeled anti-American, terrorist lovers. For your sake I'll say that not all conservatives are radical extremists, but the conservative movement in this country is being led by those types.

As is the liberal movement. Equally as extremist and incindiary.

Homosexual is not a hyphenated word, but I've heard Baptist preachers pronounce it with a pause there & had to chuckle when I read it. :D

But on the point, I can't say I've ever heard anyone from any "side" use a sexual euphemism so freely and without consequence to ridicule a political movement. I'm pretty sure that anyone who called gay rights activists Hershey Packers would catch hell from both sides.

I heard that sweeping generalizations were cool.

Wanna bet? If you track the political parties since the 60's when they used to work together in Congress, it was the Republican party that veered sharply right. The liberals are pretty much calling for the same things today that they were in the 60's. The idol of the Repbulican Party, Ronald Reagen would be considered too liberal today by the Grand Old Party.

Bingo! :)

And now the liberals have turned sharply left. Doesn't matter though, they both want the same thing under different names.

I wasn't talking about the parties themselves. Neither were you in the post I responded to. I was referring to the extremist factions on either side.

Extreme left is in no way better than extreme right.

I like how you refer to "liberals" on one side and "Republicans" on the other, as if there were no moderation.

That's because the GOP is full of backward racists while the liberals are truly enlightened and the only ones that care.

Except not.

The brand of liberalism that Obama "follows" is an extremist view, just like the hardcore right conservatives are extremists for their own views. Neither side will admit that they're extremists, but they have no problems pointing fingers... as we see around here in just about every debate.

I'm perfectly willing to admit that I'm an "extremist", I'm an extremist in that I believe in small government and above all else, the Constitution.

:24::24::24::24:
Obama an extreme liberal??? Obama is a capitalist with some moderate social ideals. If he was in the UK house of parliment, he would be a Conservative.

Just now? Truman promoted something along the lines of National Health Care in 1945. Democrats have been pushing this ever since so I would propose they have not veered. However Republicans have become ultra conservative in rhetoric if not actions.

This seeker link provides interesting reading for those who want a historical perspective although it is lacking in documentation links. The number one lie I've heard in this campaign for health reform is "Americans don't support National Health Care." Maybe some of them don't, but that does not mean the majority does not. See Six Health Care Myths.

The links didn't work, but I googled health care myths and found 10 and 18.

but I really don't care about the spin either direction. The US federal gov't should be small - not smaller, small. State and local gov'ts should be doing the lion's share of the domestic governance, everything except interstate issues. Practically every politician since Wilson have been doing power grabs of one kind or another until our founding fathers wouldn't recognize our government any more than our current representatives recognize the Constitution.

It's high time the ivory towers fall.

The tea party people are 'tards, just like the people they model themselves on. Conservatism as whole is hopeless, it's braindead populism that does nothing but play into the hands of the Progressive media elite.

If you want to escape government tyranny, refuse to obey. Don't argue with them. Insurrection, not 'activism' is the key to real freedom. Live your own life, and f*** the police.
