ok I am a 16 year old boy in Denton High School in Denton TX. Me and two other friends are making a newspaper that will rival our schools newspaper. My job is to make flash for our website and be the reporter guy. Now my first topic of the month was to ask girls cup sizes. So i went around and asked girls their cup sizes. I have over 12. I told all the girls exactly what i was doing and told them I would publish it in the paper. I also said they could put their first name down or put down anonymous(some did). now can i make my own paper and distribute it in school. and if I publish my article over bra sizes in my paper will i get in any trouble, please ask anyone you know who might be a teacher, cop or any official person. My purpose is to make a statistical paper that will inform girls the current cup sizes of girls in High School(they have grown; trust me).

This is my schools sexual harassment code of conduct.

The DISD believes that the sexual harassment of students is very serious and the district will consider the full range of disciplinary options, up to and including expulsion, according to the nature of the offense. All students are prohibited from engaging in offensive verbal or physical conduct that is of a sexual nature directed toward another student. This prohibition applies whether the conduct is by word, gesture, or any other intimidating sexual conduct, including requests fro sexual favors that the other student may regard as offensive or provocative.

its not illigle but you may get in trouble do to the nature of the topic and as long as its done in a professional manner and not done with a perverted motivation behind it I'm sure you can rule out sexual harassment that and if they willingly gave you their info you may have to have them sign release forms to cover your ass....then again I could be completely wrong...nobodies perfect

Yeah... seems kinda pointless. How big is your class there? You got twelve answers, out of what? 200 kids? That's not really something that needs to be in a newspaper.

I would say that this will fall under the heading of sexual harrasment. And if it is borderline, then the school will error on the side of caution. You should cover your ass and write down what your doing and why, then have someone in authority sign off on it saying it's ok. I'm willing to bet that you won't get permission to do it, even with a compelling case. Don't risk expulsion, get permission.

You shouldn't be asking adults on a forum. You should be referring to your school handbook and requesting the attention of your counselor to see if it goes against guidelines.

*shakes head* You can't circumvent the rules and regulations set forth by your school district. That is why you have elected officials to your school board, so that the protocol can be laid out before the school year begins.

Bottom line...go to the officials, not people who are unaware of the specific codes of conduct for your school.

Well, all things considered I can't see how that could be construed as sexual harrassment, you didn't badger anyone or make it a sexual thing. But, on the other hand it could be objectional content that your school might not approve of. Hell, if it were me though - I'd do it. Your only 16 once.

make sure you get permission first or go all out. for example, you will probably get in some sort of trouble for this (i.e. a verbal warning or something) but if you are willing to get in some trouble, do something kickass to start off your newspaper and outsell the school one.

for example, hold a story in the "anonymous submitted editorials" about how your principal had sex with you after calling you to the office...

then when she reads the paper and calls you to the office, call the cops and say she is about to rape you.

then enjoy a semester off

I think it's perfectly fine. It would be very unethic if you were to publish all the girls' cup sizes without their permissions. THAT would be a VERY stupid thing to do. Whenever you conduct surveys like that, you must always ask the person's permission to publish the information you got from them.

For example, you can secretly record someone's activities to prove something, but you must indefinitely acquire permission from them in order to show any of the info to the public. I mean how would you feel if your reputation was completely normal up until you walk around in the streets seeing everyone snickering and pointing fingers at you?

Basically, you wouldn't just be sued for sexual harassment - you'd most likely be breaking some US statutes as well, for all those damn privacy laws we have (you know, those that all the government agencies here don't even follow). BUT, I'm not a friggin' lawyer man so it's best that you ask a professional. I mean if you are positive that you'd do something terribly wrong and get into a lot of shit, just don't do it.

Blank's right, you know. The girls cannot legally sign a waiver, so their participation in such is null and void. Not to mention, I never knew any of the girls in my high school who didn't just LIE about their bra size. I mean, really...we just came out of the whole shoulder pads era, and they stuffed those into their bras to make them seem larger. *shrugs* I never had that problem. lol I wanted to get rid of some of mine back then...glad I didn't. *smiles*

Anyway...legal standpoint, not a good idea.

...perverts, not a good idea to take advice from the boys who were probably spending every day after school in detention...
