is this a sign

We had a $3,200.00 car repair bill right before Christmas. It's just part of life. Stuff breaks. Life is messy. Don't fret. Just do what you gotta do and move on. It has nothing to do with whether 2008 is going to be a 'good' or 'bad' year. ;)

Sorry to hear about the car breaking down though. Car expenses always suck! :yuk

Yeah, but you always want to start over on JAN 01. It's just a good starting date is all....of course for us procratinaters, I'm talking about JAN 2009...2008 is way too close, lol!!!!

Thank you everyone. Im thinking its not worth it to put more money into this car. Im just trying to think of all our options. We are also thinking of financing a newly used car. So we'll see what happens.

Im sorry Suzie, that really bites! I guess when it rains it pours!

We are just going thru getting 2 vehicles fixed. Got the alternator replaced in my car finally and now the ball joints are going bad in the durango. My husband was fixing the ball joints and got 1 side replaced and said he cant get one of the "nuts" loose on the other side to fix it.

Damn Amy... that sucks. Im sorry to hear that. :(

James... from what John told me and what I remember, it was something about a rod. I really am so confused on what to do. Weather to get a another used car... or just to fix all the crap thats wrong with this one and spend about $5,000. Someone help me make my decision. :confused

I'm sorry to read about your car troubles.

Being an optimist though, I will say this. It could be a blessing in disguise.

Why you ask? Well, Every year in January the dealerships have to pay inventory tax. So that's why there are usually enormous end of year blow out sales.

Granted, it's never fun to have to hunt a good car deal, but I believe if you're going to buy a car, end of December is the time to do it!

Good luck! <3

That's a good idea Crusty - do you know of any good places, Suzie, that you can go for a good deal?

Hope you get it sorted out.

It will mean at least that you will be able to start the new year rested and happier huh?

Good luck on that. :) *hugs*

I think in the long run it'll be cheaper to get a new engine for it (there are hundreds of crate engine warehouses like the one I linked to out there).

Rims and tires should be cheap. I'm sure there's a junkyard with hundreds of neons in it with perfectly good steelies/rims and tires shouldn't be more than 150ish for decent all seasons.

Thanks James... thats some good info right there and gives me something to think about. :)

Thanks all... hopefully Ill know something by the end of this weekend!:willy_nilly:
