Is somthing Wrong with Society?

American society seems to be going to hell in a handbasket. I've tried hard to be more christian like. but its definetly not the religion our society was designed for.
Like you can't even go into a 7 11 without having the cover of maxim magazine with half dressed Jessica Beil staring you in the face at the till.

But what can you do? This worlds just dirty.

Sex, drugs and violence are glamourized in the movies and media, which is probably responsible for the increase in young mothers, drug users and violent crimes. Its funny that the media covered the story of Paris Hilton MORE than Nasa launching a shuttle the same day....hmm...is somthing wrong here? whats your feedback?

this is an excellent post (for the debate and philosophy section).

it's hard to say society is wonderful these days with a straight face. but in the atheism threads, i'm of the firm opinion that society is all we have. christianity's values are not exclusive to christianity, and i think it high time we try to fix society ourselves by taking more of an interest in changing the world around us.

change is hot.

Whoa. One of the great things about living in America is free speech. If you don't like something, don't look or don't watch it. Don't push the religion card on everyone because there is an Ammendment for that one too. You can always go live in a 3rd World country where there is no TV, magazines or hell, even a roof over your head if you don't like it here. Society is what you make it, not what you force people to conform to be. It didn't work in Russia, and it certainly won't work here. I, for one, like having the choice to watch ficticious people dying, getting mutilited, raped, whatever on the big screen. I also like the choice to pick up that Maxim or Stuff and see Jessica's ass posted in high-res color.
