The carrot and stick psychology may produce the best results but the stick must be seen a just, and with hell, it is not.

I'm not interested in debating a blog site so I haven't visited the link.

On this issue you have a point, but project it as an absolute and this is where you keep getting in trouble .....logically speaking.
Not all Christians use Hell as a stick.
You've been debating one.
You'd do a lot better at getting what ever message you are promoting, aimed at the audience you are condemning. In this case, obviously the fundamentalist element.

I agree
They dont represent ALL
Christians there are many more positive christians
Than the ignorant ones

I agree. Christians who are not literalists or fundamentals are quite reasonable people.

I have almost nothing against churches. They do good work at the social and community level.
I do hate the way they teach about God and produce the literalists and fundamentals that screw it up for the majority.

I agree and so does the bible that Christians ignore.
Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Interpretation can be a real bitch sometimes.

Many men quote individual scriptures and their interpretation of those scriptures to validate their own opinion. The men who really scare me are those who quote those scriptures to promote fear and the justification for killing.

Like those who follow the O T God who had his own son needlessly murdered and who likes to use genocide as a twisted form of justice.

No. Atheists do not believe in the Christian genocidal God so they do not hate what they do not believe in.
They do dislike what Christian thinking does to the morality of those who follow a genocidal son murdering God though.

So, are you a gnostic priest?
...................

I've realized for some time that you post at numerous other debate forums. So you are not just a believer in your own right, but effectively a representative of the gnostic faith.
Being still relatively new to this forum and only recently have read this thread:

http://www.offtopicz.net/showthread.php?82653-Found-The-third-and-Final-Testament

now realize why some of your other posts on religion seemed perplexing to me as you advanced a hatred for Christianity. You belong to a competing religion.
So why curry the favor of non believers of a Christian God when there really isn't a hope in hell ( :D....just some humor ) in enlisting then in your own arguments?
It's really ironic to convince non believers to tear down a belief system on the arguments of another belief system.

Atheists do not believe in the Christian genocidal God so they do not hate what they do not believe in.
Shallow thinking.
Atheists can certainly hate concepts that are imposed against their will.
And that seems to have been one of instruments you use in enlisting their negative comments that in a debate setting, add influence to your position, which is essentially another fabrication of worshiped words.

Like I said, interpretation can be a real bitch.

There is a reason why Jesus died for our sins. You also forget that Jesus had the opportunity not to be crucified, but he did so anyways.

Only if you want to believe that a God would promote an immoral religion based on human sacrifice.

I don't see it as an immoral religion, just man's own lack of understanding.

People tend to forget what life for man was like 2,000 years ago and his mentality.

There is a lot of truth of a man riding into a town to the cheers of people one day, only to be crucified a very short time later by the same people.

You live your life, I'll live mine. I guess the idea is to try to live in peace, where sad to say, man has a horrible track record.
