is porn bad for society = the big question

if this debate was about normal adults, it would be easy,
because every genre could be included, from hardcore to cheesy.
but certain adult fantasy's cross the boarder,
because there is sickness, and they can use a recorder.
these fetish's do take hold and grip like a glove,
nasty, addictive and progressive, nothing to do with love.
the drive behind this is money, and its funding vulgarity,
every kind of respect is lost, not that this trade is a charity.
what effect dose porn have on society,
the consequences are far to big and the damage is a variety.
young people are being manipulated as porn dose channel,
because they think they can dictate there viewing, as they are on the panel.
of course there will be workers that love this trade,
defending it at all costs, explaining a legitimate job is made.
you can not control porn, it will be worse then Prohibition,
because vast amounts of people love to watch a sexual exhibition.

Errm, well I didn't catch the show you reference, but I think porn shouldn't be banned unless it's like child porn, as while some stuff is just weird, like hardcore S and M, it's not actually illegal. You don't have to watch it at all, but I think some people will.

As for how it affects society, I think people are always free to make a choice to go into that industry and/or watch it. So it's free will essentially.

i think it shows woman in a less of a way and is humiliateing and digusting. thats just me.
 
Yeah it's pretty humiliating for women.. Being in the only industry in the history of the world that has ever paid women more than men...

If you ask me, it's more humiliating for women to do exactly the same job as men but get paid less the world over.

Some porn is harmless and some porn is wrong
When it comes to sex we love to have our bells rung
It's human nature to crave sex and lust
To relieve our stress I thnk it is a must
To me, imo, I don't mind if you peek
You can come to my room and take a load off, so to speak...lol
But after all has been said and done
I know what you mean about a loaded gun
Two consenting adults is what it's all about

I think it all comes down to choice....if there's none then it's clearly wrong. What's important for anybody in that line of work to remember is that respect is a two way street...meaning.....one has to respect onesef in order to have the respect of others.

Exactly. There probably are girls out there who are doing it for the wrong reasons, but there are plenty out there who do it because it's an incredibly easy way to make a bit of extra cash.

No one ever seems to think it's humiliating for the men doing it either.
 
It's for enjoyment. A huge amount of people find it arousing, hence it's appeal. Just because there's no apparent point beyond pleasure, doesn't mean it's detrimental to society ;) that'd rule out a whole bunch of enjoyable activities otherwise.

Most of them either have no choice or they have very low self esteem. I'm willing to bet that most of the women in that line of work have been abused at one point in their lives. Am I stereotyping? Yes. But I think that for the most part, I'm right.
