exactly ..marriage is a life long commitment ...i doubt many high school kids could handle that kind of lifestyle or have any idea what they are getting into

Sorry that i haven't been on in a long time...thank you to all. i really needed that advice, and from hearing a "you're to young" from many people, it really opened my eyes, and made me rethink this marrying while in HS thing.
I've decided that i'm going to talk to my boyfriend and tell him that we should wait until we know what we're going to do with our lives before we make a life changing decision like that.
good idea or should i just let things go and see if he forgets?

sounds like he is trying to get a leash on you to control you. I can't think of any other reason someone would want to marry someone in high school. Either that or he is thinking with the wrong head. Marriage sounded so glamorous when I was in high school...I think it was the whole living with your significant other thing..and being able to have sex and not feel guilty about it for not being married (religious morals I was tied to at the time). I never actually persued the marriage thing in high school thank GOD. I think I did most of my growing up from 19-22...Marriage during that time would have been a scary thing. High school aged kids are very much ruled by their emotions, and the teen years are hard enough without having to deal with all the legal ramifications that go with marriage. I say stay in your relationship if you love him...but can I ask how long you have been together? Wait at least until you are both out of school and can support yourselves independently. Then maybe move in together, and try things out first. If you can live with each other for a few years with no major issues, then maybe you should think about marriage. I'd say don't do it until you are at least 22. And 22 is young. Hell I'm 23, and I'm about to get married. Sometimes I still feel too young, but my boyfriend is a bit older than me so it balances out I think. He makes up for the experience I lack.

I could see myself marrying Jessi or Melly, haha. But yes, way too early. In the state of Florida, 17 wiht parental consent, but you'd also have to drop out. If you really love the kid enough to drop out, go for it, I can't stop you with a few words on a screen though.

Don't take this in an offensive way, I'm trying to explain myself in the best way that doesn't sound like I'm mad at you, but whatever, here it goes-
1. You don't know either of their Myspaces, so you can't. Unless by some 6-degrees of Kevin Bacon(Or whatever the hell that thing is called) you know them. Which I doubt you do.
2. I'm already married to Jessi AND Melly, plus I'm married to Mallory and Heather, so in your face. It's just some game-thing me and my friends do at school, I even got Mallory a ring!! Haha.
3. Jessi already knows I like her, and Melly, well I like her, but not as much as Jessi. So again, telling them would do no proper good.
Polygamy=Rad. Haha.

love and sex aren't the only important things that can make a marriage work. Sometimes there are things that can outweigh the love.
Dear Dodgesniper, I have no idea how you are able to completely warp a non-offensive remark, that was intended to be a joke, into something that makes me sound like a loser. And all of those names you mentioned are not people I know, so therefore mean nothing to me.
Your remark was a joke, as was his retort. His was just more involved. Breathe, let it go....chill dood.
Back to topic, getting married that young is just insane. At that age, you are still growing and evolving both mentally and emotionally, so its crucial that you know who you are before you go commiting to someone else. If they love you enough, they'll wait.
My sister had her first kid at 15, and now at 21, she has three, and is JUST NOW moving out of my mom's house and getting on her own. She appears to be older than I am (26) and her hands resemble that of a 50 year old woman. Shes already developing grey hair.
Moral of the story. WAIT. Experience life first. Because as much as you want to, you will never be able to go back in time.

And then what's with saying, "Dear DodgeSniper"? Isn't it Dodge_Sniper, and no need to be so formal man. But yes, back to the topic. Personally, I think it's too early. You'll get to enjoy it later in life, look forward to it. It'll be even better if you wait longer. And just enjoy being young now, don't try to grow up so fast.
