Ok this might be slightly tenuous to some, but Bluegrass, which I'm a huge fan of, has it's roots in Irish music. This particular tune actually has it's roots in an English classic, Matty Groves (rejuvenated by Fairport Convention in the sixties), but the music is most definitely of Irish origins.
