If any of you guys have any good pointers or tips for an interview......throw them my way please.
I have an interview tomorrow for a job that is 7 job grades pay higher than what I make now. It is for a supervisor position over the ER and Outpatient Depts. I am really wanting this job.
I havent been on an interview in over 5 yrs so Im kinda outta practice on things that make good impressions and what not.
So I could use any help possible.

Firm handshake, no fidgiting, eye contact and speak clearly answering the interviewer with percise and to the point answers. Do not go off on tangents. When they interview for management positions, they want to see that you can comunicate well, getting your points across clearly and spoken with cofidence.

Try to stay away from negative answers...
example:
"Do you like so and so that works on the fith floor?"
You may hate their guts, but you should never say that... more like
"While we may disagree on some issues, so and so is (insert any possitive thing here)

It shows that you can be partial and fair in management. They want to see that you can think on your feet and you can handle stress. So go into the interview stress free, think of it as a simple conversation with a fellow co-worker. If you stress yourself out, you most likely won't get the job, but if you go in knowing that you will get it and show that confidence, then your chances are greatly improved.

ROFL vfast, is that how you got your job :gay

:funnah

At any rate, be positive about everything. If it's not a uniform job, wear a similar attire as the other people in that position. Be 5 minutes early (no more, no less). Don't act like you need the job, carry the attitude that they need you (confident, not cocky). Usually there are only three things someone looks for in a good manager...

1. Can they do the job (ability, credentials, training, experience)
2. Will they do the job (motivated, dedicated)
3. Will they stay (in it for the long haul)

If you can answer these questions, you'll have a good chance. Definately be comfortable and act like your happy to be there.

Oh, the best tip I can give is... Go and talk to people that are already in that possition in the company and ask them what is expected of them. Do a little investigating about the possition. It's good to know what will be expected of you while you are being interviewed, that way you can taylor your answers around it. And if your interviewer finds out that you were asking around, it will only show initative.

Good luck
