An Alaskan Eskimo, eh? lol!

Exactly. Didn't you read the whole article?

Whaling has always been a prominent source of food for Alaskans, and is monitored by the International Whaling Commission. A hunting quota for the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Commission was recently renewed, allowing 255 whales to be harvested by 10 Alaskan villages over five years.

That petition is about regulation and awareness. Isn't that exactly what the whaling commission is doing by regulating how many they can harvest? It is the plants and animals on this planet that sustain us, and it is our duty to harvest them with care and compassion.

Yes, it is. Thank God for the whaling commissions. The petition will help to regulate more than just the killing of whales.

Regardless, I can still have a personal opinion regarding not wanting whales killed until their numbers are back up in force. Alaskans are not going to die without whale meat.

yeah because of all the farms and cornfields they have? Certain people need certain things to survive. Where tim's family came from in upstate new york, some of them had no choice but to hunt for their food. I can't imagine how many animals they killed, but it was for survival.

I'm not trying to start an argument or ruffle any feathers over me having the opinion of 'save the whales'. I'm just making conversation and shedding my opinion let's folks know a little about 'me'.

I don't begrudge anyone that has to hunt for their food if that is the case.

I kinda gotta agree with Grace. I dont agree on killing whales either... I just dont see them as "food". Maybe cuz I dont eat it?

Good point... We can look crazy to people from other countries. Who knows... it still sucks...they are so beautiful... poor Willy.

I seriously used to cry at the end of that movie... I remember seeing it in the movie theater and at the end when they would play the Michael Jackson song and show Willy jumping out of the ocean...it was so, so sad. *wipes a tear drop from my eye*
