A white anthropologist had been working with an African tribe for about a year when a white baby was born to one of the local women. Naturally, suspicions were roused against him and he was summoned to see the chief, who asked him to explain himself. Thinking quickly on his feet he looked out of the chief's hut to where some sheep were grazing and said: "With genetics, anything can happen. Take those sheep for instance - most of them are white but there's one black one." At this, the chief became very flustered and replied: "I'll keep quiet about the baby if you keep quiet about the sheep."
