Looking for any information or advice regarding cancer that y'all might have. I don't know anything about it, the internet sucks for info because I just get conflicting information. As far as advice, this is the first time in my life I've had to deal with anything like this and I feel like I'm in a state of confusion, shock and denial. Everyone here has always been great with advice, so just thought I'd see what y'all had to offer. Thanks in advance!

Primary source is lung, it has spread to bones in arm, hip, shoulder, and back; it has also been found in her ribs, spine, liver and some glands; she finds out today if it has spread to her brain.........she started chemo on monday, they are going to try radiation to get the areas where its in the bones.......right now thats all I really know, my biggest questions and concerns are is there a strong chance this is gonna go into remission and what is going to happen to her (side effects) from the chemo/radiation

A guy I work with, his wife had gotten breast cancer and within a year it had spread to her brain. She had brain mets. She passed shortly after. She was so young.
One of my daugheters teachers at school at found out she had cancer of the mouth at the beginning of the school year last year. She started taking chemo and got so sick and got down to 96 pounds from the cancer that she was told she couldnt have any more chemo. The only way she could get comfortable was up on her knees and elbows. She passed away about maybe a month later. So so sad.
My grandma passed away from breast cancer. But I was much younger then so I dont remember a whole lot from it.

I'm afraid I don't know much about it either.

I do know that chemo can make the pasient extremely ill. They often throw up, they loose their hair, they loose weight, and are generally unwell. The symptoms are worse directly after each treatment.

As far as the cancer itself, I am so sorry to sa this, but it sounds asif it has spread a lot already. It may not go into remission easily, or at all.

depending on how agressive this cancer is it sounds that it has spread dramatically...it's POSSIBLE that remission is an option but without removing at least 75% of that cancer it would hard to be optimisitic

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but once it has spread, theres no stopping it.
I worked over in the Cancer center of the Hospital for a couple of days and I couldnt handle it. It was just too emotional for me. I cried all the time that I was there working

well I think it's not looking any good :dunno but for all I know, marijuana reduces the nausea caused by treatment. it was also on the Penn and Teller show, which you and everybody else should trust... so find somebody who smokes reefer (reality check: 1/4th of your friends) and have her smoke until she feels numb (depends but I'd say around .2 grams :dunno ). ask a friends for a pipe or something. the high should last almost 2 hours if she smoked plenty (do it on empty smomach!) and during that SHE WILL EAT FOOD just trust me, and then she will go to sleep. bingo!

PS you can't OD on weed or smoke way too much easily, so don't worry.

i have had several family members and friends die from various types of cancer, this seems to be pretty spread and doesn't look good. there are several types of treatment, but im sure they are going to go the aggressive route if she wants it, and she will be very sick and lose her hair, but they may be able to prolong her life a little. what were her symptoms, what made her get checked out?

My grandma had lung cancer and all that stuff as well. With the chemo/radiation, she'll probably lose most of her hair, but it will eventually grow back. And as for the remission part, you never know. My grandma's cancer went into remission, then before you know it, it came back and she died a few weeks later.

You seem to be way to obsessed with pot. It's not that good man.

I do believe cancer is the #1 reason why they are trying to get marijuana legalized. I think the cancer pts take Medical Marijuana :dunno

all i know is that the THC and some other shit in pot kills the cancer cells. so i guess it is medical stuff they get cause i doubt a 80 year old lady that has cancer gonna want to go down the block to a neighborhood drug dealer and pick up a gram.

well i will say on a good note, my great grandfather had lung cancer, he used to grow tobacco on a farm in NC and roll his own unfiltered ciggerettes, needless to say they caught his early and removed one of his lungs and a small part of another. he is still kicking it today at 93!

About 2-3 months ago she found a small lump/mass in her lower back, it started hurting to the point that she was having massages done almost everyday to help, when she saw her doctor about it, he sent her to a surgeon who said it had to be removed, the surgeon told her it was just a mass, it looked like a "good" lump and there was nothing to worry about, 10 days later she went in to get the staples removed from the incision and that's when he told her that it wasn't a "good" lump, now the last 3 weeks have been one day of bad news after another, until yesterday..........she had 4 mri's done over the last couple days (looking for more cancer) and they all came back clean, yesterday was a much better day!
