In a not so good mood right now

I was working out at the nurses desk last night out in the waiting room and around 1am this morning a policeman brought in a 29 yr old that he pulled over for drunk driving. The dude requested that he wanted a legal blood draw done on himself to "prove" that he wasnt drunk. Even though I could smell it on him from across the counter. When a person requests themself to have a legal blood drawn done, the person has to pay $200 up front. I told this guy that as he was standing there in handcuffs and he told me he doesnt have it and wanted to argue with me that he was only .01 over the limit. He told me that he wanted me to call his parents in Pennsylvania and have them give me their credit card #. I told him we have to actually have the credit card to swipe it. And I told the policeman that we cant do the test on him without payment up front. So the policeman told him it was time to go. The guy turns around and spits on me and tells ME "thanks alot, I really appreciate your help" What the hell! I wasnt the one who put him behind the wheel drunk, that was his own dumb fault.
So then I had to have a blood draw done on myself since he spit on me, to check for HIV, etc.:mad

Oh Amy - you nurses and police are at such risks every day - I hope all will be OK for you hun.

Will they be able to tell from blood taken straight away though? Would it not be best to wait a few weeks or something? I think that's what they do here.

I hope it's all alright though - that's what's most important.

Take care. :) *hug*
