Well the expected life span for kid these days is about 100+ if I am not mistaken? When a few decades ago it was 60-80...
I'm just talking out of my butt here, but kids born in the 90's could be 100 plus, but as we all know, children are getting less and less healthier, and I doubt a lot of kid's I know are going to live past 85.

unlike a lot of you older farts...

haha

i embrace the idea of immortality.

the universe is ever-expanding, and requires _*(alot)*_ of time to explore.

Life is in stages. I am in the final stage. It is as it should be. I lived and loved my life. I love it now. But infinite life would not be a blessing but rather, a curse. Life and it's cycle is as it should be.

Yeah, kids these days are lazy slugs, glued to their computers and ipods and video games and cell phones and existing on a diet of junk food and energy drinks. Modern kids are perfect consumers, not even understanding why they buy all the garbage they do.

wtf ever!

:sarcasm

although, you are seriously stereotyping, and methinks it stems from the media..

... consperisee thereeee....

and while you're at it, take a walk around many college campuses -- ramen noodles are not junk food. rice/pasta are not junk food.

but then again, beer is quite.. flowing around my campus, and i suspect many others.. so.. i am not sure exactly about the energy drink comment.

and i was in the CVS around my college a couple of days ago... the tea/good-for-you drinks were all sold out, a good bit of soda as well, but the energy drinks (red-bull, monster, amp, etc) were quite unsold.

so... curb your tongue old man! :surrender

I have worked with many a young person (up to and including those in their twenties) so don't dare tell me I get my "stereotyping" from the fucking media! I deal with these techno-zombies on a daily basis. One fucking guy said he felt naked without his cell phone, while chowing down on his perpetual frozen dinner; the same tasteless dreck every day. The vending machines at work filled with candy, chips and chocolate bars regularly sell out. There are energy drink machines and Coke machines but not a single bottle of juice or milk to be found. It's interesting that most of the people eating properly prepared meals are immigrants of Asian and African origin. Canadian kids bring prepackaged processed food of the "heat-and-eat" variety. I rarely see Canadian kids eating fruits or vegetables. I live very near a Catholic high school. The ground is littered with fast food and junk food wrappers. The convenience store on the next corner is littered with kids buying energy drinks, sugared snacks and cigarettes. This is the evidence of my own eyes. I'm out there earning a living and interacting with people on a one-on-one basis, not hiding behind my video game. It's amazing how many kids are socially-dysfunctional. I would like to start a poll asking how many people actually know how to cook. Nothing necessarily fancy but good hearty well balanced meals. Unfortunately there is not a big enough cross section of society here to get a meaningful conclusion.

You can't blame the kids really. This is the technogical era dependent on gadgets and junk food. The skipping rope and hullahoop era was in ths stone-age years.

:eek

i said to curb your tongue! :24:

i actually share a portion of your sentiment, so i am not necessarily against you. the technological side (not the junk food side) is just a factor of a society that has been pushing technology before since you were a twinkle (or so i think... i could be wrong).. i did have a chocolate ice cream shake today.. been about a month since i last had one, and about 3 weeks since i last had any type of ice cream.

although i've had a good bit of soda recently. i need to get more stringent about my drinking habits (j'adore l'eau) but i cannot stay awake in the morning after about 4/5 hours of sleep with just water (i need to eat in the morning.. that has shown promise..)..

i can cook.

just (currently) too damn expensive, financially and "timely"..

You are right. Kids are dupes, victims of the corporate advertising pimps. You have been brainwashed into believing that you are dependant on gadgets and junk food. Humans were mindless slugs wallowing in the primordial ooze before god blessed us with ipods and big macs. ;):thumbup

I am more productive with gadgets and junk food. Who says junk food is unhealthy. I eat tons of junk food and I shed more calories than the intake.

The experts do. Why do you think it is called junk? So much for you being immortal. You really think food is all about calories? That is naieve thinking. Food is also about nutrition.

Where did all the junk food (if unhealthy) originate? Which country has the highest proportion of obesity? Ban the junk food just like we banned chewing gums here.
