No and I certainly do not claim to have all the answers.

Like for instance the child that the parents brought over illegally - the child did not break the law, the parents did. Should the parents be punished and removed? Yes, but what happens to the kid? You can't separate families like that, right? I don't know. I know it is a very difficult subject.

I do think however that if we stop making the US so 'illegal immigrant friendly', many would stop coming illegally. A lot of state laws have been made to deter illegals since the fed laws are not doing enough.

I mainly just want people to be documented. I'd also like to see the US speed up the legalization process for immigrants. Living in a third world country is horrible, been there done that as well. But illegal immigration is not the answer to that problem either.
Yeah, the child would be harmed very emotionally if they were separated from their parents.

I think a workers program would be good. They come over to the US from Mexico for lets say a week to work, then they go back for a week and so on.

What do you think should be done with all the illegals here now?

DH and I have tossed back and forth a few ideas. We both agree that we can't reward people for breaking the law so there do have to be some consequences, but not so many that they will not come forth and get documented. I figure a hefty fine and community service will not deter people if they know that if they do not come forth and get documented if they ever get caught being here illegally, they will never be allowed citizenship. I figure going this route will get illegals to come forth and document and the ones that don't come forth are the ones that more than likely have a record or ones that are not assimilating enough to even know what is going on. Just a thought.

If they want to stay let them but make them pay into the system I am not working 160 hours a month and paying into social security so it won't be here when I am ready to retire. I am tired of seeing everyone getting over the system and when you need it it's not there.
