there is actually more than one variation of cat5e cabling. patch and crossover, i use both of these, and there are some with different colored wires inside, so you should have actually said something like:

1,2,3,6
3,6,1,2

(cross-over)

1,2,3,6
1,2,3,6

(straight through)

---

that would eliminate having black and blue wires, of which, may or may not be in the cat5e cabling.
