if you could would you

The question was asked IMO...hypothetically...as in imagined or suggested but not necessarily real or true.

It was not whether or not you believe you have a soul or believe in souls not, but hypothetically.....what if.... offered the deal...would you......

No, the whole thing hinged on the fact that you'd have to sell your soul in order to get the "goods". That was the catch. So, you'd have to believe in a soul in order to "sell" one.

No, not for sale for anything.

My soul is what makes me and helps me through life and brings me the lovely friendships with people I know here and otherwise.

I need my soul to carry on and to feel for people and help them.

I like my soul. :)

Put another way:

If you were an elephant or a lion, would you prefer to live in the zoo or the jungle?

Hypothetical question or not? Are you an elephant or lion, or do you believe you are an elephant or lion? The answer is no. But simply...what if....?<--------Hypothetical question.

Can't explain it any simpler than that.

No I wouldn't. My soul is the most important aspect of my being.

I am thankful for the heart I have that pumps oxygen rich blood throughout my body. I am thankful for this vessel that has the strength to get me around to do God's will. But at the same time this vessel's most important purpose is to carry my soul like a car carries a passenger. I am thankful for my mind so that I can gather knowledge.

But it is my soul that I am most thankful for because that is where truth, wisdom, and discernment come from.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.

For the sake of the "hypothetical question", I'll assume I have a soul.

No, I would not, and I'll tell you why: Doing so to have all of that removes the interesting things about life.

The question is asking you to put yourself in the position that you do and answer accordingly. Not if you believe you do or not.

Do you truly grasp the meaning of "hypothetical"? Again, i've tried to draw a comparison to explain as clearly as possible. I can draw numerous other comparisons but won't because space would not permit and I don't want to hijack the thread. Look it up if you wish.

I....just answered the question....I wouldn't sell it for all of that stuff, because that would make life less interesting. :confused

I was thinking the same thing. If you don't believe in the "soul" hypothesis, then it doesn't really matter.

I guess the same logic could be applied to: If you don't believe in God, then there is no Devil, so no soul to sell.

:clap

I'd do it.... not like I have anything to lose...

And for all of you that believe you have a soul that will live for eternity, let me ask you a question.

Where did this soul come from? What created it and when did it start?

Was the union of sperm and egg so powerful that it spontaneously created a "soul" that would live for eternity? Not likely in my book....

:clap

For some reason talking about selling your soul reminds me of the movie Ghostrider.

But heck no I wouldnt sell my soul, thats creepy sounding

Probably because Johnny sells his soul to the devil to let his father survive the cancer.

I'd do it.... not like I have anything to lose...

I agree.

Sooooooo.....what you're saying is.....

....the egg came first? :ninja

Obviously the chicken came first. Two chickens to be exact. If there's just one egg, there's no other chickens to mate with, thus ending the chickens. Two chickens>Eggs>More chickens>More eggs>etc.

As James said, explain to me exactly what a soul is, and I'll answer. But as of right now, yes, I would. I mean, think about it. What good is my soul for now? It doesn't do shit. It doesn't help me with anything. Hell, it may not even exist. Soul=No happiness? Bullshit, money will fix that. Have you ever seen a millionaire crying, saying, "I don't want all this damned money! I HATE being rich!"?

As for us being "outer shells" with nothing inside, that's wrong. We have organs :cool

-- -- --- ----- ------------ :ninja

But if there was no egg there would be no chicken.

:ninja --------- ---- --- -

This is retarded. Ok then, what came first, the vagina or the girl? Obviously you need a girl to populate the earth, but I mean, a girl can't come out of nowhere(Ignore the pun). I guess vaginas and eggs can just magically appear? Just like people and this universe just magically appeared?
