The world is about to be destroyed and there is one space ship capable of carrying five people to another planet where the human race can carry on. You have been given the task of deciding who those five people will be.
Here is a list of twenty people and you must choose five to go on to the ship:

These people are in the next room and the spaceship is just down the hall. Destruction of the world is imminent, you have 20 minutes to make a decision. You have never met these people and the only information you have about them is what is written above.

So many problems for this guy to work with, it's not even funny.

I had to eliminate the cop, because if we are going to rob or kill each other when we're the last 5, the race doesn't deserve to continue anyway.

Had to lose the teacher because things are going stone-age for a few decades anyway. We need to learn what we need to survive. Hitler, the dinosaurs, and the Magna Carta no longer have strong relevance.

University student, because he has no experience, and is a PITA. LOL

Preggers teen. We'll need to get started on babies right away anyway. For the species, I hope there are three men, and two women, but as a man, I sure hate to say that!!

No businessman, because we'll cross that bridge when we get there (in several hundred years)

No nurse, because doctor has more info.

No housewife, because they'll get here when they get here. Not crucial for survival, but lovely to have around.

No ocean liner captain, because we had better all get along without that much leadership anyway, or see police officer reasoning.

No soldier, because if we're dropped someplace hostile, we're screwed anyway.

No child right away, because they will require too much attention while we're getting started. If all goes to plan, in 10 months or so, we'll have the little ones running around.

No librarian, because there are no libraries. Hopefully the above listed people are organized enough and responsible enough to get some info down for future gens.

No cooks, because we can figure it out ourselves.

No vet, because the place we land is going to be foreign anyway, and those animals are already used to making due on their own.

No scientist, because we need rubber on the road now, not in 20 years.

The five that make it had better be ready to pull some extra duty. They had better start writing down what they remember of our history. They need to cross train each other in as many skills as possible. They need to work together for community, rather than self.... and on, and on, and on, and on.

Definitely not good times here. If they do it right though, (assuming 5 people are diverse enough genetically), Earth II could get going alright.
