Sorry...but running your country into massive debt and using public money to prop up banks while working class people lose their homes and jobs would be a pretty much textbook definition of a failed government. If fundamental definitions equal simplistic pap in your world, you're not really equipped for political debate.

As I said before, it's mere sport for you. You choose not to educate yourself; that's your loss.

Stone do you run a business?

The above line makes absolutely no sense.. If you have greed and corruption you have incompetence, as anyone who understand business and would be competent would never let greed and corruption stand in the way of what's best for the company ( corporation ). Yes these people maybe "educated" but that does not make them competent. Faster growth can bring a lot more money and success to you than greed that will eventually bring you down..

I'm retired now but I have owned two small business.....an auto repair shop and a family farm.
I've also worked factory assembly lines.

But incompetence doesn't dictate the status of greed and corruption as an absolute.

You're only playing with semantics by defining what 'incompetence' means to you.
Incompetence of the title holder includes greed and corruption of the position, but other factors also attribute to incompetence..... intelligence and performance of the title holder ( CEO/President etc)

But.....the concept of corruption can be very competent....it only needs be efficient in it's own interest. This was the setting of our banking system.

These men were/are very well educated and had no qualms for putting our system at risk for their own gain.
So....it's very logical to say......greed and corruption was a greater influence than incompetence.
Otherwise, you're only rationalizing their actions.

Yes....so?

Faster growth can bring a lot more money and success to you than greed that will eventually bring you down
And yet executives at the major banks became wealthy from greed and corruption while the taxpayer and general public took the 'hit'. The bankers, themselves....the CEOs, Pres, and VP, Directors) profited wildly from their actions.
I'm not endorsing greed and corruption, I'm pointing out your view of the situation is obviously skewed and you simply do not want to be seen agreeing with me :D

Fair enough.. So I started at the bottom of the ladder and made my way up.. Now own my own company in high tech..

Of course not.. You can have Greed, Corruption and Incompetence but when your talking about the hierarchy of companies it not often you don't have all 3..

Even the best of white collar crooks have gotten caught such as Bernie Madoff, Jeff Skilling and Bernie Ebbers.. Again you usually have an educated CEO / Director that turns to greed and corruption due to incompetence. :p

Well I can't speak for US Banks because I don't deal with them.. But I do know Canadian Banks are heavily regulated so things that have happened in the US did not happen here.

Yes....so?

From what I been told at the rate these guys were going it wasn't only the CEO, VP and Directors that made wild money. The peons an the lower levels made tons as well..

Interesting....but our personal work histories are irrelevant to the topic.

That was a double negative statement that seemed to contradict itself.....you might want to restate it.

Even the best of white collar crooks have gotten caught such as Bernie Madoff, Jeff Skilling and Bernie Ebbers
They wouldn't be the best of crooks if they were caught, now would they? :D

You're only mindlessly jerking off with words. :p

Point......this thread isn't about Canadian politics nor it's business community and fiscal/ethical/moral problems.
I don't doubt your situation in Canada is different.

Like share the wealth? :D
I don't doubt a lot of bank stock manipulation allowed investors with inside information to profit, too......but that's also more along the lines of greed and corruption than incompetence.

OK seeing the rest was mindless drivel.. This seemed the only valuable thing to answer.. I had no idea we moved go Canadian politics either.. :p I merely pointed out I had no idea of US Banking and only Canadian Banking. Hence I will not venture into things I have no idea.. :cool

Stay and learn.....you don't have to leave (......:D.......:p.......)

I always stay.... I always learn... But when you get to a point when people play silly games, its time to walk away..

I truly am not here to throw insults and play word games.. Sorry if at times I slip or have mental blocks on what I mean but that doesn't give anyone the right to change the meaning of what i said ( not directed at you in specific ).. :p
