Idiot Americans Voting against Thier Own Best Interests

No, I'm an independent thinker with enough common sense & knowledge of how business works to understand that an individual losing their job, pension, etc. isn't a result of some political agenda.

If you can't see the connection between gov't and big business, you're not much of a free thinker..................

By the way,..forget about Conservative/Liberal, Democrat/Republican.

These days, they're two sides of the same coin which happens to jingle happily in the pockets of major corporations.

Maybe there's a community clinic where you can go get your BP checked and have some basic blood work done for a reasonable price? I totally understand that medical costs are unaffordable even for many with health insurance.

Your situation is becoming increasingly common. There are approximately 1,000,000 medical bankruptcies and 67% of those filing bankruptcy have health insurance.

It's only getting worse, yet so many people who need Universal health Care fight against it. That's the point of this thread - millions of Americans who would benefit from Universal Health Care and strong labor laws but vote against their own best interests.

Sad part is. I work at a hospital.

Sad part is. I work at a hospital.

I completely understand, having 3 RN's in my family. And that's the biggest irony of all. There was a time that hospital employees were well taken care of. I worked in the diatetics department of a metropolitan hospital in high school (meaning I swept, mopped and washed the dishes, pots & pans) and we were treated free by the occupational health nurse if we got sick. Now, the highest paid staff can barely afford their premiums and co-pays. Just imagine what it is like for the houskeeping and diatetics, and other low paid staff today.
