iced in swans

when i was at coombe park on sunday most of the lake was frozen over.....well this pair of swans had drawn quite an audience.....they were seemingly stuck out on the ice......one managed a few steps but however much flapping it did the other couldn't get to his feet...............i felt really sorry for them

the ice was thick enough to take a swans weight but not a persons.......besides if they were stressed they'd bite hard if you got to close

fantastic pics again,theyre starting nest building here ,but also having problems like this it was minus eight degrees last night

Must have been very fustrating for them, swans need a good run up to get airborn, not easy to do on ice! As skyblue said though, the're tough birds, I'm sure they were alright.
