It honestly takes a special kind of person to "Want" kids. Some who deserve families never get the chance... Many who could care less.. carelessly destroy the emotions of those they were blessed with. I may joke with those whom have decided not to have children, but I certainly respect their decision to withhold... no matter how good of a parent I think they would be.

Couldn't have said it better myself. So many people have kids that neither need them nor deserve them...and that's not fair to the children. I am quite selfish...I like to travel, I like to go out w/ friends, and I like to be able to take "me time" whenever I want to. Plus I decided a long time ago to make my career a huge part of my life and I like it that way. You can't do all that w/ a kid w/o neglecting to provide them w/ some very essential things in life...and I don't believe in letting nannies and relatives raise children that you brought into the world. I wouldn't have a pet that I didn't have the time or money to care for...why would I have a child??? LOL

I was a step mother to a 9 and 11 year old for 8 years. Still correspond with the daughter, she's only 12 years younger than me (my first hubby was an old fart).

I have a stepson with my hubby Joe. I loved Evan from the first, I was an only child and never was comfortable around babies.....

I'm fixed as is Joe so it would truly have to be an Act of God for us to conceive.

Sometimes I have had pinges of regrets. I didn't get fixed because I wanted to but due to a medical complication....so having the decision taken away from you....well you mourn some....you think what ifs.

But I love Evan, he truly loves me and I am rather selfish....I'm all the mom I am going to be.....of course with 2 dogs and three cats I'm actuallly more a servant than mom in my own home ;O)

That's good one, but I'm sorry you had to experience that. It's the one thing that worries me about my relationship w/ my older brother. BUT I'm not the one refusing to communicate. I hope he figures it out before it's too late.
