For those who don't know it's like a metal/rock festival. My friends and I could only go for one day becuase of exams and revision. Here's the poster:

We got there a bit late becuase of traffic on the M1 and cars kept crashing so when we got there Atreyu were finishing. But we did see:

  • Flyleaf - A bit boring to be honest.
  • Five Finger Death Punch. We got quite close for that. Then they invited fans on stage to shake their hand and people were flying over the barriers and crowd surfing towards them. Their show had to be cut becuase the staff couldn't get everyone over safetly and it was going to end in disaster.
  • Lamb Of God. I was in a circle pit for that, right at the front (I could smell the pyrotechnics, I was so close) and for the last few songs, Randy Blythe was telling people to make the biggest circle pit he has ever seen and it was massive. There was so much blood on the floor at the end of the show.
  • Megadeth. They were pretty good. They had a really long set actually, probably becuase Five Finger Death Punch only played for 20 minutes.
  • The Blackout - They were fucking awful. I was only there because I wanted to band after them.
  • HIM. As some of you know, they are my favourite band, and they were AMAZING!!! Though I might be a little bit biased. I got pretty close for this becuase I was squeezing my way inbetween people. If I had gotten closer I would have flashed and thrown my bra at Ville Valo. I got hurt here. Some morbidly obese guy was trying to crowd surf, people could not hold him up and I looked round and he was at the side of me, going the opposite direction to me and then next thing the people holding him had thrown him and he went straight into my back. I then headbitted the guy infront, my friend got kicked in the face and a tiny girl (she was barely 5foot tall) got crushed and had to be taken out. But it was great.
  • 30 Seconds to Mars. Caught a bit of this but we didn't stay because we went to see...
  • Rage Against The Machine!!!! They were fucking amazing too. Most of the festival was watching them so it was packed and just insane. Zack de la Rocha had to keep asking people to move back becuase last week at the show they played, a fan died and people were getting hurt here because there were so many people. It was so fucking amazing though.
We are already in talks to go back next year for the whole weekend. I didn't get any pictures apart from a sexy woman's arse and a tango bottle. But I had a wonderful time.

Damn! I'd have loved to be there!

You can stay in my tent next year - I'll smuggle you in :p

I did meet an American guy during RATM. He grabbed my arse and then told me how much he loved British girls. He was very drunk so I gave him the wine I had tucked inbetween my boobs and bid him adieu.

I hope it was alright. The wine was horrible, it nearly made me sick. It tasted like Anti-Freeze mixed with death.

Very jealous - I saw RATM years ago and they were absolutely amazing. Megadeth were pretty good when I saw them as well. Hope you rocked out for all us stuck in musicless voids...

RATM were AMAZING. And everyone was dancing and rocking out it, thousands of people all it once as the sun was setting. It was such an incredible experience. Megadeath were good but they didn't seem as crowd pleasing as Lamb of God. Loads of people left when they were on and went to the other stages or to sit down and watch them. We left to sit down, but we had to because my friend was about to faint.

I rocked out as hard as I could, probably why I ache all over and have somewhat lost my voice.

You lucky girl! RATM just rock, don't they? I saw them at Glastonbury back in 1994, seriously good gig :D

it wouldn't be a proper rock concert of you didn't end up aching afterwards ;)

Hahaha that's true, I've had to bandage my ankle and I have countless plasters. And before I showered, I smelt like beer. RATM were just fucking amazing. Definately a highlight.

Not for me, I can handle spicy things:cheerleader:
I'll have to upload it either tonight or tomorrow night. Along with my awesome picture of a tango bottle :24:

I remember the Monster of Rock tour in 1988, my brother saw Van Halen/Metalicca/Black Sabbath (I think Dio was in the mix but not too sure and a host of others) I remember his tee shirt he bought that day. looking back on it, that was quite a bill. and it like ran for eight to ten hours
