Your quick shots sure took some time to load.... but worth every single minute. :D

Thankz for brightening my day. ;)
You and all the others that liked 'em are most welcome. I'm really starting to like that lens. I shot some bald eagles that were about a 1/4 mile away. When I got home I viewed them on my computer, zoomed in and I could actually make them out. They weren't as sharp as I would have liked but it shows this sucker has some potential.

You take awesome bird pics! I love the mallard one. :clap
Birds is kinda my thing for now.
Which one? The brightly colored male or the albino female. I don't know if it's an actual albino but what I do know is I have never seen a white one before.

I was talking about the male. I didn't realize the white one was a mallard too. :eek That's cool!

The male is the colourful mallard, while the female is mainly brown

Ah, the 1 stop thing became a bit clearer on Wednesday, lol
You got a tc on Wednesday? I've had them before and used the 1.4x on my 70 - 200 and a 2x on my 100 - 400 with mixed results. I don't know if I would do it again. If I did I probably would use them strictly for landscape stuff because I think some sharpness is lost when shooting birds etc.

Don't know what you mean by tc, but I went to this workshop, because all of my photography is "self-learn't " i.e. I still don't know a lot about photography especially when it comes to f-stops, that is until I went to the workshop, ah, now I know:thumbup

tc = tele convertor :D

Which one did you try? With Canon's 1.4tc :D you lose 1 f stop and with the 2.0tc :D you lose two. Depending on the lighting conditions and the lens it's on it can be ok. The less light you have the not so ok it will become.

Haven't tried a tc yet. Mainly because I am still learning the technical side of photography

Siph - how come you don't share yours?

I often share pictures :) Nothing lately as I haven't taken any lately - waiting on a present of a sensor cleaning kit Guy suggested. I love this camera and it wasn't cheap so I'm going to wait for the kit before any serious pic taking again. Still got some to upload from Universal studios and Canada still though.

It's actually a 150 - 500. If I ever bought a prime 500 my wife would bobbitize me and hand it to me on a platter.

I imagined it must have been a range, I wouldn't even know if a fixed was available at 500mm and if so, goodness...

Well, I say that and then googled. Came up with this. I see what you mean now about price. *faints*

Ya siph... you take some darn nice shots.

Thanks Guy.

I sold my tc to a guy last Sunday and he dragged one of those out of his box. He then attached it and the tc to his camera, took a couple of shots and said " I'll take it". He paid me my full asking price to which I said thanks and axed him if I could look through his setup. I gotta tell you it was one sweet set up despite feeling like it weighed a ton.
