If ever someone is too nice to me I need to be ready for the hook. I have a neighbor who we have been neighbors with over 15 years. We speak but we have never been pals. He does landscaping for a living and brought a couple of pieces of equipment up here and did less than an hours work but saved me a bunch of time. I was gracious and offered to pay him for what he did. He declined. This morning his wife called me to say they had some leftover sod from a project which would be great where I had my trees removed. I asked how much. She said $350. I declined as nicely as possible. i really cannot afford to spend another $350 on this project.

Sod is dang expensive. I did our back yard in 78 and it was $1600 just for the sod. That was the price at the farm by the pallet. I had access to a roll back but it did not have the lift to tilt the load so we unloaded half of it by hand into my backhoe bucket.

I did part of my backyard around the pool with sod. I do not remember the cost.
