The fucking law says if your fucking truck has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 10,001 pounds or greater then you need to have an annual inspection and have a DOT number on the truck.
We have had the same friggin set up for years and all of a sudden we get stopped. We get a warning for maybe being overweight and as a result ticketed for not having the DOT and Inspection. The GVRW on the truck is 10k so it should be exempt
I have talked to 4 different people and none of them come back with the same answer.
So about $1k later I am still working on the fucking truck to make sure it will pass a stupid friggin inspection. And it is taking a hell of a lot longer than it should so I might end up having to pay the damn ticket anyway. For some reason the county will let you off the hook if you comply. Where as the cities will cite you up the ass at $200 per violation.
It aint a friggin coincidence there are 3 places to cite violations and they always can fill each space. I had a friend with a brand new truck and trailor pulled over on the way back from the dealer. The sheriff said he could cite him for several things.
And this is all a result of the friggin Feds. They mandated this bullshit on the states where as the states could have waivers on some over the years. You want the money you sent to DC back then you do whatever the fucking Gestapo in DC tells ya
