Ok Toots don't fucking take this wrong ok. The best thing you can do from the fucking day your little darling was born is to make regular noise. Play the stereo, turn on the tv, talk, laugh etc. We did that with Little Buddette Guyzerr and we never had to worry about anyone calling, ringing the fucking doorbell etc.
