Jaco Pastorius who I believe died is another amazing bassist. I saw him at a Joni Mitchell concert.

the talk in the day was that Paul McCartney was a great bass player but I never thought he was special. he was good but I think the band gave him more hype than his talent.
as for the late Entwistle............... yeah that fucker was good. another fucking wasted life. that fucking band should still be going strong with both him and Moon. Moon had a quirky style of playing the drums . dumb fuckers :thumbdown:mad

I agree with that last bit...I will say this though...when they brought Zak Starkey (Ringo's son...Keith's godson and drum mentor) on tour for Quad et al, you could close your eyes and swear that was fucking Keith. He's a bit more controlled than Keith, but stylistically very freestyle like him. I never got to see Keith fucking live...he died when I was four...but John...fucking hell man...
Noel Redding was another hell of a bassist...and I agree with your assessment. To me, the Beatles individually weren't all that (John was my favorite of the four solo and when they were together with George as a close second) but as a whole, they were innovators. Let's face it...Ringo was a human fucking metronome but put that fucking stuff together...fab.
