I am giving this to my mom for Christmas, I got her a calender too (with pics of me, and my neice, and stuff), but decided I also wanted to do something a bit more creative along with it.

I Remember

Childhood days and summer nights
Funny stories and immature fights
Warmth of a breeze as memory fades
What do I remember?

You’re arms hugging me tight
After a bumblebee bite
Months lasting years, freedom of home
Never fearing being alone

Playing all day, camping all night
Singing then screaming in fright
The neighborhood boys attacking
But all of us laughing

School bells, fresh clothes, books, minds
None of us were left behind
Sleep being lost that night before school
I found friends, I discovered, I’m cool

Leaves falling, mountains turn red
Suddenly we’re all walking dead
Wondering through dark streets
Door to door, begging for treats

Tunneling through the cold
Slipping and sliding behold
Presents appearing magically
As we ran down to the Christmas tree

Ice thawing, days become long
Walking in the sunshine, singing along
Spring awaking, to flowers and fresh sheets
Searching for baskets, candies, and treats

All of this I remember and all because of you
You’re sacrifice, work, and few
Night’s off, to afford my childhood memories
All of this, is why I love you.
