But do you think that all these debates on racism will hinder this board from expanding? Over the past few days I've seen a few threads on the subject. Other and lalujohn's Indian thread. What do you think it looks like to other ethnicity's that come here and sign up? :ninja

If I'm speaking candidly, I love this board. I think open debate about things like race and religion make people think and encourage others to express themselves.
If anything is going to kill this board, it's going to be the catiness and the idea that if you put a smiley face at the end of something cruel, it makes it a joke. It doesn't.
 
I hope any individual wanting to join this forum would be able to suck it up and dive in head first. I would love to hear opinions from everyone on race, etc.

So pay attention those of you out there that are reading this and thinking of joining. Do it! Be not afraid, nor put off by those few of us that are idiots - meself included :D

Besides, they're Americans on this forum, and everyone hates us :24:

You then told me in a message that you did not want to discuss the matter further. How can we move forward with this issue if you will not discuss matters such as this with members like me? I only wanted you to hear my side of it, but you just brushed it away and told me not to do anything of the sort ever again. I still stand by my joke and believe that it wasn't racist and was posted without the intention of offending anyone.

Racism and racist posts are not tolerated. There are several rules that apply to this situation. See the rules thread in the board rules forum for more.

Debating racism and it's impact on our society is one thing, making racist jokes is an entirely different matter.

In keeping with the rule I highlighted above in red, if you have any more to say on the subject take it to PM's.
