Lucky!!! It was 103 here the other day w/ a heat index of 106. I wish I had a pool, but not yet...maybe one day.Its not even that hot out!!! I took the pups for a two mile hike and they aint dying
Do you glow under a blacklight now? :unsure:i went swimming in a lake that doesnt allow swimming, $700 fine if caught. I wasn't caught
As for a pool..... I have friends who have them and they complain all the time about the maintenance and upkeep. I don't need more work. So..... no pool in my future.
I would like a pool, but I imagine that the expense and effort of maintenance would drive me to get rid of it eventually.
We have had ours about 15 years. The last 3 years it rarely gets used but it still has to be maintained & vacuumed.

Salt system is the way to go...I can't believe that ANYBODY still has chlorine at this day and age. If they knew at all how much easier a salt system is, they'd switch in a heartbeat. I think it's about $4000 to switch over...but my dad has spent a grand total of $6.50 maintaining his pool this year and his water is crystal clear and gorgeous. My neighbor's water can best be described as teal-ish colored...and she's already had to shock it twice!!!
Yanno, that DOES sound more right than the $4000 I said. What's that say about me that I can't remember when it's what my dad does for a living??? LMFAOI'm hoping to switch to a salt water filter next summer. I was told it would be about 1500 to switch my existing one.
I have a pond on my property. The first couple of years it was great.
Now the snapping turtles and muskrats and frogs/toads and fish have taken it over. I won't go near it. I do enjoy the wildlife that visit it though. Deer, ducks, geese, etc.
