Liberace was a genuine entertainer and his gayness was obvious when gay was not talked about as much. I always felt he was one entertainer who was approachable. He was amazing with a piano.

I agree Fred...... Again, he was so gracious with me and my mom when he didn't have to be..... He's another I wasn't too sad about passing cuz now he was up there w/my mom... Elvis the same way.. He died a couple of years after her and I was thinking the poor man will get no peace now:D She was known for tossing her panties w/her hotel key wrapped in them up on his stage:eek My 'Proper' Mother!!!!!!:willy_nilly:

In proper fashion of following in her footsteps, I once flashed Gene Simmons (Kiss) and got an appreciative eyebrow raise from him.... But I didn't not throw my panties at him! I have principles:24:

WOW MO. Great story

and THE OSMONDS:eek

I LOVED Donny when I was a spring chicken.

:pics:

My dad met Larry Hagman in Sydney years ago. He asked him where a certain store was, so dad walked with him there.
He invited dad to join him for lunch, but dad said no thanks:eek

Good to know I"m not the only one Cam Elle Toe!

Ok... So this story goes that my mom won a trip on a PBS auction to go to their concert in Las Vegas and then meet them back stage. I'd already seen them twice before in LV and the last trip, my mom paid the Maitre 'd of the room for me to sit in the seat where he gives a hat & kiss away to "Go Away Little Girl". So I brought that hat to have signed along w/an autograph dog. (I so did not wash my face until my mom made me)

This was taken that night:

What is funny is while I was waiting for Donny to show, Jimmy Osmond and I were talking and he dropped a pretzel in my drink. I called him Stupid as my little kid self didn't realize he was 'flirting?' with me and only had eyes for Donny. Silly me.

Marie was so beautiful! We share the same BDay so I always thought that was cool. I was in awe of her beauty.

Alan had a good memory and remembered me from the few times we'd run into them before in the lobby of Caesars Palace.....

I remember as the time was up and we left out a side door the corridor was filled with other little girls and they all stopped and wondered aloud who I was and how I got in there. I felt very 'above the fray' that night;)

So, after that, how could I not drag Liberace out to see my mom.......

Wayne was in the band too.....

Both Jimmy and Marie had sections in the concert.

Jimmy put out the album Killer Joe - which I still have..... I think I still have most of their records.... They're not in great shape tho. They got played to death.

bad celeb story. :mad

Back in about '75 or so a bunch of us were slamming back :thumbup a whack of cool ones in the Hotel McDonald lounge in Edmonton. In walks the real tall and I mean real tall :eek African American guy. He proceeds to slither :24: into a chair at a table within earshot and sit about 4' away cuz his legs are so long he can't get closer. Anywhoo, the waitress went over and took his order and went to go get it. While she was gone a fellow obviously recognized him and walked over to the tall dudes table and being very polite he asked same tall dude for an autograph cuz his kid was gaga over him. Wilt Chamberlain told him to fuck off. Said stranger did in fact fuck off. What an asshole that Wilt was. :yuk

:(:( Geez moonie:(

WAYNE...forgot about him.

"Crazy horses" was my favourite if I remember rightly.

I still love Crazy Horses. The song and the record.

It did go to shit. I found my mom dead when I was 12 and had to go live w/my evil sister and her bastard husband who proceeded to gleefully throw most of my stuff (including the hat & dog) away as I was too spoiled in his eyes (ah, possible ;) ). It's a long sorted tale that can be quite depressing. Most of my teenage years were spent dealing w/some serious anger issues...

It's hard to decide to become a survivor instead of a victim. But I'm glad it's the path I chose. Tho, as PS will tell you, I still carry baggage along with my TrueLife Cinderella story:cool

*sets out pitchers of beer to cry in* :D

Thanks, I try.

A lot of healing took place w/meeting PS and the birth of PrincessBooBooButt... I'm glad I didn't take some of the other paths that tempted me along the way..

Hey, it's true about Karma. My sister's life kinda sucks. Big time. I try not to get all happy about that but I find it quite interesting... Her ex also isn't doing well. I find that interesting also.... What goes around does indeed come around. I try to live life accordingly.:cool

As the immortal John Lennon sang

"Instant Karmas gonna get ya"

I was just singing "Starting Over" in the shower the other day thinking about him writing it and then he was gone.....

I think he was a musical genius far more so than MJ. But then again, different types of music... But I always liked John more than Paul.

I bought my ex the boxed John Lennon CD set YEARS ago. He leaves MJ for dead. :)eek did I just say that) His lyrics were just so beautiful.

"I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll"
"no longer riding on the merry go round, I just had to let it go"

Sometimes you do have to let it go..... AbsoFreakingLutely! I'd be one bitter bitch if I hadn't...

Let's see..... Larry Hagman would be cool... It's neat he was nice.

I've seen Christoper Atkins in the LA airport a couple of years after Blue Lagoon . God his eyes were beautiful! Almost glowing blue/green.

I've also seen John Beradino at LAX too. He was a character on General Hospital. He was very distinguished looking.

Being down here in Florida I haven't seen anyone notable that I can recall offhand. It was living in California or traveling back to California that I've seen most of the celebs..

Oh wait, I did meet Robin Zander & Tom Peterson of Cheap Trick back around 81 when they played here. They were on the way to back stage and my girlfriend and I got their autographs. I also met Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley & Paul Stanley at a local radio station back then. I told Ace he had cool shoes. He had silver high tops w/planets & stars on them. It was about 10 years later that I flashed Gene at a concert. I wasn't in to him yet when I'd met him. I was still into Peter Criss and was disappointed he wasn't there...... hehehehehehehehe..... The Demon still scared me. I liked the Cat. I had to grow a couple of years to truly appreciate Gene ;)
