I went off my epilepsy meds for no good reason and had a seizure and scared my poor hubby to death. I felt it coming on. I was in bed and thought, Oh, shit....... I rolled off the bed and bashed my right eye into the coffee table and my right knee into the dresser drawers. I look like I'm wearing half a halloween mask on my eye. I've never had a black eye and it's literally purple with blue and red, it looks and is painful.

I skipped work Wednesday, went to work yesterday and had to tell my story again and again. Joe is going to kill me if I skip my pill again. I'm surprised he doesn't make me wear a football helmet to bed.:D

My knee actually hurts the worst. When I don't walk on it a while it stiffens and I limp. I can't cross my legs w/o it hurting and it's weird.

Oh well, I've always resisted this thing............I don't know why I got it suddenly at age 23 w/no warning, brain injury etc., started in my sleep, then went on to grand mals. I've always known when I was going to have one. Always could stop what I was doing and go to a safe place. This time I should have gotten to the middle of the bed.

You all should see me, I have never seen a purple the color of my eye it's all over and it's very vivid. Joe feels like everyone is looking at him like he did it when we are walking together. :tooth

The pain is less, the stiffness is bothersome, I feel I ought to print up my story I posted and just hand it to the few people I haven't told so I don't have to tell. The only fun part is it is funny seeing people's expressions. They know I'm the kind of person they can ask so they do. I've gone w/the Halloween costume schtick many a time ;) I did get some pictures because I really haven't seen the purples the eye turned to this color. Why does that garner some people to say, I knew someone w/that color bruise who lost her eye? I wouldn't say that to someone would you? And these aren't people who dislike me......

Your descriptions are funny but toying with meds is not. Take care of yourself and the eye will recover. If the pain in the knee is severe you might want to get it looked at.

Thanx Fred and I won't toy w/my meds, my hubby got right scared and he's a good guy I don't want to scare him like that, I luv the lug. And the pain in the knee isn't severe it's bothersome, when I sit at my desk too long it stiffens up and I limp. I am rather a fast walking person so I'm not used to not being able to stride a long w/no pain.

I just have to stop being stupid, realize yes, even though I don't know why the hell I suddenly got epilepsy, no accident, I do have it, I have pills that control it and I simply have to take them as there are obviously repercussions and possible concussions if I don't ;)

I have knee issues myself where stairs are concerned. Like you I am a strider when I get walking and most people my age walk at a slower pace. I probably should get my right knee looked at but I think it will have to wait for now. I was not trying to be preachy but my sister took seizure meds for about 40 years before having brain surgery so I am familiar with that issue.

Scary stuff!
Naproxen is really good for inflammation it might just help out your knee a bit. I took it when I had tendinitis and it was better than other OTC meds.
