Okay... so it's really hard getting over a 3 year relationship especially after remembering all the good times I had with her and seeing her turn into a complete bitch tords me just makes it all harder. It's so hard to just let her go. I know I should everyone is telling me to forget about her and move on... but I ugh is way to hard. and I think I'm obsessing over her.

But then there's this other girl... that I kind of like. I've known her since last fall. She's a very nice girl. Doesn't party or drink. She has goals and its very mature. She's also my age which the last one was a year younger then me. This girl told me many times that she really likes me.


But there's one problem.... her dad is a complete control freak! :(

She's going to be 21 and her dad didn't let her get her licenses until she was 18. He also doesn't want her to have any boyfriends until she's done with college. When I go over there he makes us sperate from the couches.

One time we planned on going to see a movie together during the day (shouldn't be too bad right I mean it's during the day 3pm) NO her dad wouldn't allow her to go out.

Some other retarded things her dad lays down on her.

*Has to call and check in like every hour.
*Wont let her have a job
*Wont let her have her own car
*Wont let her date guys
*Has to be in the house before dark
*She can't even be on the phone when her parents go to bed. KEEP IN MIND PEOPLE! SHE'S ALMOST 21 :willy_nilly:

UGH!!!! Her dad is persian decent. Her mom is white so she is half persian.

She always tells me that she wishes her dad would stop being such an asshole and control her but it's how his culture was when he was born in IRAN. Here's a picture of her.



I understand that she is the youngest out of 3 girls. But dont you think her dad is being a little too extreme? I mean come on... OTz help me.. :(
 
Yeah, he needs to let go. He needs to realize that he isnt in Iran anymore, things dont work the same over here as over there. I think stuff like hes doing will hurt her in the long run...not really experiencing a "normal" life. I bet she turns wild.

I'm not trying to hijack Trance's thread, but am I the only one here who identifies with her dad. I've often considered how much of a hypocrite I'd be when I have a daughter, trying to protect her from bastards like me. Don't try to con me, I know there are at least a few of you.

I do see where hes coming from...but its her life to live, not his. And besides its trivial shit like talking on the phone, sitting on the couch together...thats a bit over bored.
 
SHes almost 21 and he keeps tabs on her like that? Do you really want to get involved with someone who lets their family have that much controll over them?? I'm sure shes a nice girl but like he said.. there are many other fish in the sea..
 
Seems like her dad is being over-protective. She'll eventually do what she wants anyways.

If you really like the girl tho and want to develop a relationship with her it might be a good idea to try and be on good terms with the parents. Example, don't do stuff to give them reason to distrust you. At the end of the day, they are still and will remain her parents regardless of how many people come and go.

Thats what I tried telling her. If that's how the men are in Iran they will be questioned here in the states. It's not right.

I really like her. I want to see if they will let her go. I mean they let her older sister get married. It's possible... it will just take time.
