Im not going to argue with you Tang

Don't mean to start one.

I just get very defensive because this is my livelihood and there is a massive amount of misinformation in the public about food safety. I take it almost as a responsibility to make sure people know facts, and lots of people quote old wives tales.

I was discussing this with a friend just yesterday. She still subscribes to the "pork must be well done or you'll get Trichinosis" thing that her mother taught her. Never mind that there hasn't been a single confirmed case of Trichinosis from domestic pork in more than 40 years.

Fondue party......lots of fun....and everyone does their own cooking:thumbup:D

I went to a Fondue restaurant once! It was freaking awesome. They just don't give you enough food. If I ever have a Fondue party, I'm totally going to load the plates up because all I could think leaving the restaurant that night was, "God, I'm still starving!"

Use to do those all the time.. Would heap up the meat and veggies..

Also learned to have a bigger Fondue set ( bowl and oil holder ) for multiple reasons.. One many skewers cause the cooking oil ( peanut or veggy oil ) to cool down too fast.. Also the bottom oil would empty out too quickly from everyone wanting to cook too long and then it would take forever to get the thing going again..

But it was fun to eat slowly and make the dinner last a long time.. This is not a meal for the impatient.. :)

I like meals that take a long time. Dinner is not something you're supposed to do and then get up and run off. It's supposed to be an event. :)

I agree, but there is always one with all the skewers in the pot asking how fast we can get this thing going..

I can take all night to eat and it would not bother me at all..

I said, peanut or veggy oil as my son has very bad nut allergies, so we have had to adjust.. Peanut oil makes the best Fondue oil around.. But when a life is in danger you do with what you can..

I'm sure I've had something made in peanut oil at some point, but I've never used it. Does it actually taste like peanuts?
