I have no life so I went to the Zoo tonite

Tonite at 6pm it was adults only. Nobody under 21 allowed and they were carding because booze was available.

I had been wanting to go for a while to take some pics. I wish had brought my smaller lens though. It would have been better for some shots due to the light and distances.

Oh well. I was surprised they came out relatively clear given my inability to hold a camera steady.

They have an inside bird sanctuary but it was too hard to find most of the birds and they were not active.

He or she just happened to be walking that direction as I came up to the exhibit. The pic does not do justice to the actual view I had.

I was bummed there were several animals not active. They used to have an awesome Polar Bear exhibit and have really upgraded but none were in sight

It was nice to not have the kids around.

I was very impressed with the condition of the zoo in general.

The only exhibit that was not good was the penguins as the windows were dirty and kind of steamy

Actually I don't mind the kids when they are not with their parents.. Usually they are well behaved in small groups and not with relatives ( parents or other family ) that are bad examples.. It's exactly those bad examples I would love to whack sometimes when I am at places and they are worse then the kids..

Ya know, I may pay a visit to Taronga when I go to Sydney at the end of the month. I havent been in about 15 years.
Cept it will be school hols....dont know if I can handle the crowds

I try to go every year..... but this year didn't have the time. Perhaps next year.

I am not fond of crowds either. I have been wanting to go for the last couple of weeks but with school out I thought otherwise. Then I saw the ads about this being adults only. The only downside was that some animals are not active and they have an amazing butterfly atria that was a disappointment as they were not active.

But it was worth it all anyway. Maybe I should get a year long pass and go there for walking exercise on the odd occasion for something different. :thumbup
