Originally I had a partner but have been alone the last 21 years. I find I have a real issue when business contacts who are untruthful with me. When I receive a check especially one that is past due I always look at the postmark on the envelope. Why tell me a check was sent on a certain date when the postal service will postmark it on receipt?

Nothing worse than a run around for payment. I had a farmer jerk me around on some excavating I did and when I contacted the ag service I found out he had been paid 3 months before that by them. Had to go flip out on him to get my money.

It's foolish for untruthful business contacts to try to stiff you and others because not only is it wrong, it's also dangerous. They never really know who they're messing with.

It's really unfair to mess with the self-employed. Dick around with the big companies, they can carry some past due bills longer w/out undue hardship, the self-employed guys NEED their capitol......... Peter to pay Paul! :thumbup

I have been self employed since 2012. I started freelancing when I was still in college and after university, I continued to work as a freelancer. However, I wasn't making full time income as a self employed individual until 2014

I have been self employed since 2014 after I lost my father in 2012 all hope seems lost search for better jobs to no avail so I have to continue with my freelance work till date and this is my job

I started my career through self employment, I taught neighborhood kids. That was when I was in college. I took a job after I passed out from college

I like self employment especially if you are working with honest people. You might just want to continue that way for life. I like freelancing job as well.
