I gotta say

You've just admitted you made an assumption, and you can't react accordingly as an unbiased moderator if you're making an assumption without clarification. Correct? Find the harm before putting a negative spin on it.

My point is, two mods commented on her post. If it was taken negatively or seriously, it should have been handled via a PM, no?

If everyone continues making mountains out of mole hills, the problems that we seem to be suddenly having will never be fixed.

I simply responded to her comment to clear up the inaccuracy contained.

Thank you, James. Of course you're aware of my sense of humor. And you're entirely correct in what the intent for my post was. It is indeed, a sad day, when innocuous observations are immediately taken wrong. Keight asked a rhetorical question. I thought that that obvious. I continued with the intent of her question. Her question had no obvious answer, other than the fact of what we all already know: that OTz has undergone some changes, posting has been subdued and we all need to be kinder to one another. I quite agree that mods coming in here and somehow turning a fun thread into an issue is what is escalating now. We just had that thread removed. It's on all of our minds. It's "current news" if you will. And it "appears" that the preferred method of dealing with problems, i.e. PMing to solve issues, is not always followed. Hence my comment about occasional communication in rep, among others. This thread is a classic example of my statement. Instead of asking me in PM, "What are you trying to say?", the mods have chosen to publicly make assumptions and stir up some drama of their own. Nice going.
Now can we all just laugh and maybe have the negative posts (and this explanatory post) removed so we can try to laugh a little?

That would work fine if members who were p/m'ed answered them;)

As I understand it, the "Leave a Message for a Forum Member" was removed mainly because it was being abused by members taking it to pass their bitterness to others, often unprovoked, with too many hostile comments under cover of supposed anonymity and also by name calling.

All communications between members has NOT been relegated to occasional comments written in reps. That is just not true. They are way many avenues of communication available.

There have been certain members going out of their way though to push limits and cause trouble for ulterior motives.

Thanks for answering Breath.
For a while there I thought James was your new spokesperson and he knew exactly what you were thinking at any given time. :D

:jk See smilie at end of comment.
Mods have a sense of humour too.

You're welcome, C_B. And thank you for bothering to re-post with something positive toward my post. :)
And James spoke on my behalf very well. He does know me.
