I can't wait to get out to the range and put a few clips through it. I really missed shooting. I use to have a Smith & Wesson 9mm model 5904 and I put thousands of rounds through that one.
This is the Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm... I really like the feel of it so far. I can't wait to see how it shoots. It seems to be put together very well..
 
what would be the general consensus on a beginner's gun?

yes, i am interested. was looking at glocks, but decided it might not be as safety friendly, so to speak.

there is a range around here, and although i am not yet 21, it does not mean i cannot start looking at them.
 
Glocks are among the safest guns around. They won't fire unless you actually pull the trigger. Plus there one of the most reliable. If I were to go out and get a handgun (which I plan on doing in the near future) that would be my top choice. You also have many options as far as caliber and sizes. Get a glock you won't regret it.

Me too Heather. It's weird hearing guns being discussed as if it's an every day, normal happening - we don't have that here, not Ok'd here, anyway, so it just seems so strange reading things like this - especially being given as a present.

However, it is your way of life there, so fair enough.

Different countries, different rules......:)
