I got a new car! *finally!*

I had a 1989 Toyota Corolla Sport Coupe.

Back story:

Earlier in the year I pulled into my driveway and started rolling up the driver's side window and snap the mechanism inside the door goes, so that window doesn't roll up or down anymore.

Then in February, some clown or clowns, at a community center where I have parked for years when bringing my daughter to her dance classes, decide that the Raiders antenna ball, (that I've had for years!), looks so nice that they pull it off the antenna, but not just pull it straight off, they have to bend the antenna all the way towards the hood so it's completely bent and hanging on a tiny thread of metal. Bye-bye antenna, hello duct tape to give it that trashy look.

Then in March of this year, some big-ass flatbed truck, (with tires that are almost as tall as the roof of my car), decides that to make his U-turn he has to turn into my lane first, so he takes out the driver's side of my car and the back corner.
*AAA says it cost more to fix it than it's worth, so they won't fix it and the other guy's insurance company and the company he works for, won't pay above the car value, (stupid law, in my opinion). So my car's not fixed.

Then last month, the brake lights stay on 24/7. I look online and something's said about a cable under the steering wheel to the brake pedal can be replaced for a few dollars, but I don't see anything. So I disconnect all the brake lights.

Then the day after my wife and I were casually looking at cars, (at the local Toyota dealership), my brother comes by and says, "I hear your car isn't working." Well, my daughter had told him; but actually my car does work, for the most part. Anyway, he knows the owner of the local Toyota dealership and says he'll talk to him about a deal.

We go there and get a 2008 Blue Toyota Corolla S with a rear spoiler for the pre-mark-up price.

*I wanted to trade in my 1989 Corolla, just to get rid of it, but when I went to start it....nothing. My wife had just bought one of those portable car starter batteries with attached jumper cables. (She said she didn't know why she bought them, but they were cheap in price.) So I jumped my car, got it down to the dealership, an hour and a half later, a guy says to me, "Let's test drive your 1989 Toyota." Damn, I say to myself, will it start? It does start and the guy drove it and it actually ran smooth. So they cut a check for me. When we had done all the paperwork for the new car and everything was squared away, one of the Toyota guys went to start the 1989 Toyota and it was completely dead. I just laughed to myself and said to myself, "HAH! You guys bought it already! It's your piece-of-shit now!!

So, anywho, I have a new car and I'm sooooo happy.

It looks like the pic below except it's blue, more towards a Navy Blue. :)

Considering you had the last one for almost twenty years, I'd say you deserved the upgrade. haha

Congrats on the new ride!!

(Don't worry, that old feeling will fade away in a few days :) )

I haven't driven the old 99 Windstar for almost two months, and when I'm in my 98 Cavalier, I still grab for the shifter on the column... (the Cavalier has a floor shifter).

lol

Both these were for work. Sometimes I get in the Cavalier and try to push in the non-existant clutch. It's auto, and my Civic is manual.
