Tonight my husband ran in the demolitian derby at the fair. He got in the 3rd heat which had 19 cars in it. His car is a 1973 4 door Cadillac (pretty much a tank). He was doing pretty darn good. It was down to him and like 4-5 other cars. There was a Hearse that had been chasing him around the arena. It was pretty entertaining until the Hearse hit him on the passenger side door and flipped his whole car upside on the roof.....all 4 wheels in the air! Me and my kids went hysterical! I screamed, the kids were bawling. It seemed like it took forever for him to come out! He had to belly crawl out the back window! But thank god he was fine and thank god he was wearing a helmet!
Now he is getting up at the crack of dawn in the morning to work on his car and give it a tune-up so he can run again tomorrow night.

haha I'm pretty sure it's a requirement to wear a helmet while participating in a demolition derby.

Sounds like a blast. I'd love to find a piece of shit 'tank' of an old car to do that.

I'm missing something here, right? The kids were bawling and freaked out, he knows this, but yet he is going to do it again tomorrow night? Huh? I think I'd kill my husband. LOL!

They (kids) love it. He wants to win 1st place so he can get in the finals. If you win the finals you get $1000.

Cameron was crackin me up while we was watching. He was pointing at some other car that was having trouble getting their car started again and the car was making loud weird noises and Cameron said "I think he is fixing to blow up his transmission" :rofl2: He's only 4 yrs old so I dont think he even knows what a transmission even is.

I used to go watch Grand Prix, banger racing and drag racing when I was younger. I enjoy that kinda thing - I could never actually have a go myself though. I nearly got hit by a tyre that was crashed into by a banger car. It crashed into the tyre 'safety' barrier which is how a tyre flew into the air. It travelled quite a way and us spectaters had to run for it to miss us.

However, being in the car of the crash must be scary. Glad he's OK though. Are you worried about him doing it again?

Your 4 yr old is so funny with the things he says lol Tell him he is cute and amazing! :)

I went outside and took some pictures of the car this morning. You can see where the roof is caved in when he flipped upside down
