And I've thought German drivers were the most irresponsible drivers. oO

(Offtopic:
L0L This topic made me laugh; not because of the topic itself, but I've started to listen to ESLpod, an English learning podcast; and the first two units were about "texting while driving" and "dangerous freeway driving" and I've learned a lot of useful vocabulary like 'tailgating' and 'to weave forth and back until the others move over' and 'fast lane' and 'drag race' and so on. :D)
[shush cat, that's not interesting for anyone! :ninja]

I have text while driving but never in traffic or on the interstate. I have texted on some of our rural roads. I live out in the country.

I was agreeing with you by the way.. :p

I understand that at times we all feel compelled to pick it up.. We see daycare, hospital numbers or retirement homes where our families are.. I will pick it up and damn the $179.00 because I know trying to get a hold of the other side, should I miss the call, will be impossible and it could be and has been an emergency.. But I will pull over as quick as I can.. Thankfully i have not gotten that ticket yet.. :willy_nilly:

And yes I have done illegal things in places I did not know the law and gotten dirty looks.. Live and learn.. Not doing it again is what makes you the better person.. ;)

I try to put my phone in my purse so I'm not tempted to grab it when I'm stuck in traffic. Should put it in my trunk.

Interesting they tell you to weave back and forth. That will get you pulled over here.

Have any of you seen this application.. It is highly pushed here by our DOT and is free for Texts messages..

The combo asked is Bluetooth and this DriveSafe Text Message text to Speech Application.. It works for ALL phone types..

That's cool, I don't have bluetooth though. My boyfriend can wait 45 minutes (as can I), we are just so attached at the hip electronically because we don't see each other, it seems more important for me to grab my phone at a red light than it actually is.

Oh, no no no. They didn't tell me to weave forth and back; I've just learned the meaning of this phrase, that's all. ;) It was a monologue of an irresponsible driver who told how he always weaves forth and back and such things. And after the monologue the learner (in this case: me :D) got an explanation about the used words and phrases. :)

(P.S.: *notes down "to pull so. over"* :D)

Im one of those people of exception
I can talk at the same time you talk and understand everything
I can listen to the radio watch tv play a video game
and cook dinner all at once
but I see everyone around me are down to 1 to 2 things at a time is the max input

Being "pulled over" is the slang term for the policeman motioning you to the side of the road and writing you a ticket.

Admittedly, I doubt that it is possible to do 3-4 or 5 things at the same time and really do them precisely. :willy_nilly:

Even with quick processing speeds, it is still likely we process things sequentially, and therefore accuracy is lost every time we multitask.

*hastily notes that down as also "to motion so. to the side of the road"* :willy_nilly:

Thank you. ^^ Further phrases are always appreciated. :)
