Yeah, I get the same amount of hours on nights as I do on day shift. The only difference is how the days are spaced. On day shift we work 8 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, 1 day off, etc. That way we get every other weekend off so no one is always working weekends and there are enough people working on any given day. On nights I work Sunday night to Thursday night and have Friday and Saturday nights off. It's easier to get people to cover my nights off on weekends so I get weekends off. It kinda sucks not having 3 day weekends but I don't do a whole lot on my days off when I'm working nights anyway.

THat must be tough working those straight 8 days eh? :ninja I know-i cant work like that. Labor laws don't prohibit you guys to work more than 5 days straight? :humm:

I used to have a crappy schedule myself but not anymore. Most weekends am off except for just 2 Sundays/month which isn't bad. Plus I gotta chance to pick my own sched and only work 14 days per month which is awesome :nod:

I don't know the labour laws all that well here, to be honest. I do know that a lot of the labour laws in Kentucky didn't apply to farms. When I worked there we got one day off a week, they didn't have to pay us OT and they didn't have to pay us extra for stat holidays. Whether or not farms here are exempt from labour laws is another story. :dunno Eight days straight really isn't that bad, especially when you get 3 days off after. When I worked for the evil farm across town I didn't get days off at all so I feel my schedule has improved here. :D It probably helps that I love my job. If I hated it, two days in a row would be too much. :p
