I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT need alcohol to have a good time....

Errm no, well it depends what you're doing, where you are. If you're out at a club and not drinking it's seen as better in a sociable sense to drink beer but you can still have fun, depends on how good the company/conversation is. I only really drink when I go out, not at home that often.

Alcohol is just a tool used by the ebil coprorashuns to distract the masses.
What he said and if I wasn't drunk I might even understand it.

Actually I don't drink. I've done my share though. Well I lied.... sorta I bought a six pack two Christmas's ago and drank two over the course of the holidays. I kept the other four in the fridge threatening to drink 'em but never did so I frowed 'em out after about a year. I can have a better time without it especially when I watch a bunch of blubbering idiots make fools out of themselves.

damage? thats debatable... I've heard differing professional opinions. Maybe if you're a hardcore drinker.

Damage from alcohol comes in and to stress Dana's point of being a hard core drinker. As Red wine which of course has alcohol content ( not as high as liquors) is healthy for the heart and is recommended/prescribed one shot glass per day. I remember a patient of mine b4 who's medication list consisted of just Red wine at dinner and whiskey with lunch everyday. She was 104 y/o and that's all she been taking for many years, NO medications :D

no its not debatable. its why there are groups like AA, surgeon general warning on the products and extensive cases of people causing damage and even dying from a night drinking

As mentioned above, it depends on how heavy drinker a person is :p Dying from one night's drinking can be possible too and of course there might be other circumstances leading for such to happen like the mix of drugs or medications and alcohol etc AND how plenty that person has drunk for that night or if he's a daily drinker then of course the remnants too of the previous night's drink in one's body can be a contributor too :)

If you drink a lot (like every night) then there is going to be damage because your body isn't structured to be medically able to cope with it.

I agree  Hence there's that word- drink in moderation, Drinking every night or eveyday of course leads to decreasing one's tolerance to alcohol and hence requiring a drinker to drink more and more everyday. It's almost like drugs- it can be addicting if one loses control :)

I never drink, but still have fun.

I am like you. I dont drink and yet remain to have fun s0819.gif

I'm up in the air. I'd be much better off keeping a totally sober lifestyle but the bottom line is I'm single, I mingle and the people I mingle with drink. while I will NOT go back to the way I was (Being hammered practically every weekend night) I dunno if I can go completely without it. Though I could be wrong. i could buy a drink and completely hate it. I know last time i had beer, i didn't like the taste.
