I think it's kind of cute that people don't know what to do in a hurricane, but then again I wouldn't know what to do in a Tornado or an Earthquake.

Got a call from my cousin in Jersey looking for my father this past Friday (he was down visiting). Funny, she sounded so frantic asking where he was at, and I told her he was outside mowing my lawn LOL

sometimes the water is shut off during hurricanes....every one knows that if a hurricane comes you fill your tub with water to flush your toilet with and you stock up on drinking water.

Last hurricane we had no water and no electricity for 5 days. You'd think it wasn't THAT bad, but no AC, everything is muddy, plus three dogs tracking mud everywhere and you having to sleep in your bed with no shower plus being kind of hungry from eating camp food all day is MISERABLE!

If you add on top of that no toilet flushing....you'd go insane.

Some hurricanes can last for HOURS too. like it will start at 5pm and won't stop until 3 or 4am. At least where I live anyways because we're so close to the landfall of hurricanes who come through the Gulf.

Oh yeah and because you have no AC, and it's 100* out and everything is wet so it's like 99* humidity, but you keep your windows open just in case it helps, and all you hear and smell is your neighbor's generator running all day and night...SUCKS.
