This is one of a pair that visit the feeder all day long. Unfortunately they are extremely timid and I can't get near them. In order to get this shot I had to park my car quite a distance away and at a certain angle, then wait for quite a long time.

This shot is heavily cropped and not near as sharp as I would like. I'll keep trying but I think I'll be forced to spend a wack of dough on a decent tripod. I've pre-warned Mrs Guyzerr :D and she's ok with it. :clap

Very nice. We have them in our yard and I could never get one that well. Mine are little blurry blobs. Good Job!

Thanks all for you comments. I'm glad you like it. They are an amazing little creature.

By far it isn't what I intend to end up with and it's barely passable but considering the circumstances I'll live with it for now. My plan is to go get a tripod sometime this week and once set up within 3 feet of the feeder I'll park my car very close to it. The birds are used to the car so I'll blank off the windows with something and have my shutter release cable coming inside. All I have to do then is push the button, get out and check, push the button, get out and check. You get the picture.

very nice - what shutter speed?

Um....... I'm embarrassed to admit but it's at 1/250 sec. I intend to shoot it at 1/1000 and upwards with a flash if I can cuz I fully intend to stop the wings and them little buggers beat very fast.
