There was a hummingbird stuck in our feedshed so I took the opportunity to take some pictures of it.

I hope so. They need to eat quite frequently all during the day or they die. Their metabolism is one of the fastest in the whole wide world.

I tried to catch him so I could put him outside. He let me get pretty close with my camera but whenever he saw my hand coming he'd fly up into the skylight again. When I came back after lunch he was gone so I'm thinking he finally figured out that he had to fly down a bit to get out the door.

Yeah, it just perched on a rafter and didn't move so I crawled up on a ladder and managed to get quite close to it. Poor thing must have been exhausted. I think the third one is the best.
