Is it a gift or a curse? We live breath, think and act with a consciousness of things around us. We have the ability to recollect the past, mourn loss and think about our future. But with all this comes an ending... Humanity has caused war, poverty, superficiality, greed, phobia, hatred and religious persecution... So I ask is humanity a gift? or a curse?

True thing and to the point.

Basically and with some elaboration it's the state of being human with all it's imperfections and time-limited life spans realistically speaking. It is pretty much what you make of it yet depending on circumstance each's experiences, expectations and quality of life may vary.

It's a good life for some, others not so much, which comes back to circumstance.

A gift. No matter what, the fact that we are rational animals able to reason about the world around us is a gift no one else in this side of the Orion Arm has. Its a great, noble thing that each man should prize and love.
 
I beg to differ..

I do not believe life is what you make it.. You do not have complete control of your life. Some have more control than others.
