I don't know how old you are but did you grow up in the 60's or 70's? I think it's pretty generational - music from the 60's doesn't really do it for me. Too slow :)

I am a few years older and was a big fan of the 60's but probably have as much fondness for the 70's and early 80's music

I think the 60's has its place because music was made for AM here and songs were short.

Some great pics there Sky but as for Sam and Dave I gotta go with this one.

Back up band for them was Booker T and the MG's

Who were another great group

Plus the bass and lead guitar player were in the Blues Brother movie

I loved the 60's and risked many an ass tanning when I got caught listening to it by my very religious mother and then religious dad. The arse whoopin's were worth it.

This one cranked me up to no end.

My first record I ever owned was a Beach Boys album and I played it until I wore out the needle.

I like 50's & 60's too. But I'm stuck in the 70's. I like some 80's and then I couldn't tell you much at all about music after that. Except what PBBB listens to.

hehehehehehehehehehe...... Most of which is NOISE!:24:

Most era's have something I like, my mom had me quite late so I was exposed to a lot of 40s and 50s music I like. As long as it isn't rap, jazz or terribly twangy country I'll give it a chance.

A large part of the last 2 decades of music has been senseless shit, especially since 2000. It's not hard to see why you have an affinity for 60s music. Oh, and thanks to Alexis for the Beatles byte. They're the epitome of how diverse a single band can be in a single decade. Truly, musical geniuses.

70's is more my style, although 60's isn't bad.

But 90's was were it was at. People didn't realise how good they had it in the 90's. Even shit bands made good albums

I'd have to respectfully disagree with you. There were very few breakthrough bands in the 90s. Most of it was recycled garbage from previous generations. Nirvana had the balls to be different and was one of the greatest bands of the era. Hip Hop was gaining in popularity, but was much more creative and clearly defined in the 80s. Pop music was awful--even worse than the 80s pop. Michael Jackson still proved to be the King of Pop (but in the 90s the title wasn't as impressive). Alternative music made its debut, but again, Nirvana is one of the few bands that will be immortalized from the period. Am I missing anybody else?

Hundreds. :)

Dylan, Springsteen came back and made good albums for the first time in a decade. then you had REM, Radiohead, blind melon, oasis made 2 standout albums, jeff buckley did Grace; probably the best album of the period... there are so many more too
