How to legalize Marijuana

I do believe it will be legalized for most if not all of the US before I die

How do you think they should go and do this? Of course they would need to tax it to benefit the government. Same laws with drinking and driving i would guess.

How could they do this in your opinion?

it's on the ballot to be legalized here in California... the last poll I saw had it at 52-36 for legalization. As California goes, so goes the rest of the United States it seems like. We were the first ones to legalize medicinal marijuana. Let's hope it spreads to the rest of the states and then over to Aussie-land.

I honestly don't care if it's legalized persay...I'd be happy if it was decriminalized.
I mean if I'm alone smoking in my house leave me alone.
And it's crap to say a person can't get a job because of a little weed.

Now if someone is driving recklessly, I'd say breathalyzer first and then check for the signs...
Blood shot eyes... hostess cakes, ect.

I actually get scared to think of what they'd do to weed if they sold it like cigarettes.
All those chemicals they add into it, psh.
That's why I roll my own with chemicaless tobacco.
Improved my lungs and even got rid of my smokers cough.
And then smoke shops can take that damned 'for tobacco use only' off the pipes.
It's so misleading! Tobacco in a bong is not fun at all!
-Siiigh- Weed has so many benefits...and the only health problem it already causes is legal (your lungs: smoking.)
Let the smokers smoke already.

(Sorry I gave it up about five months ago to clear my system to hunt for a job. I miss getting help with my depression and not feeling every little bit of pain in my body. -Grumblegrumble-)

God knows when it will get legalised here. Last Prime Minister, Gordon Brown spend tons of money on research into the harm it causes them completely ignored the experts who said it was relatively harmless and upgraded it from cat C to cat B.:thumbdown
I think it will be legalised when the government realises we dont vote them in to be our moral gaurdian so never, probably.

The fact that cannabis is classed as a category B drug just goes to show that the government has no idea how to deal with drugs.

We will continue to marginilize the rather sizeable minority who partake, label an otherwise mostly law abiding and non violent section of society criminals, and fund the drug smuggling rings responsible for getting it into the country. And I imagine I will be seeing this throughtout my lifetime. The best that will happen, and what can already be construed as happening, is we will sweep it under the rug; and neglect to enforce the law in it's entirity.
The government asks a lot of your average policeman; when the letter of the law demands that those found in possesion with cannabis, even just for personal use, should be arrested and result in a prison sentance of up to 5 years.

Yup, it cured my cervical cancer last year, and now because I need to get a job I have to worry about it coming back.
Bullshit.
Now mind you I only had a small patch of cancerous cells but I think it's worth letting people smoke it when you can avoid a surgery.

The UKs Drug's Classification is an absolute joke. Their very own drug advisory panel has seen most of it's members walk off after the Govt ignored their proposals for a proper system of drugs classification, 5 levels, that's actually based on truth rather than propaganda. To have ecstasy at class A, the same as heroin, for example, is just absurd.

Turning a health/addiction issue into a legal penalty is so lame, stupid, and sad it diminishes the intelligence of our law makers. It's viewed as the easy thing, not the right thing. Mary Jane should be legal. The more serious drugs should stay illegal, but they need to rethink the solution. Jail is no solution.

The impact of legalising mary jane on society is minimal. Legalising the harder drugs with have the bigger, more profound effect of cutting crime. Legalising only mary jane would be a waste of time.

Got to remember that even the majority of the police disagree with the drug laws and turn somewhat of a blind eye over here to people just with a bit for personal use. What Springsteen posted was the absolute maximum penalty. You get caught with a bit of weed during a stop and search and 99% of the time the'll just take it off you and give you a warning, not even an arrest or on the spot fine.
